Neighbors impacted by last week’s opening of Lava Cantina in the Grandscape development along highway 121, and other interested parties, are invited to the May Kings Ridge HOA meeting on Thursday, May 11, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The meeting will take place at Parr Library, 6200 Windhaven Pkwy. in Plano, just west of the Dallas North Tollway. The meeting, at the site of regularly scheduled Kings Ridge HOA board meetings, will be led by HOA board members and leaders and focus on one issue – noise. Space is tight and 100 people can fit in the room, but not much more. We’ll do our best with the library staff to accommodate attendees.
During the meeting, Lava Cantina owner Ian Vaughn will discuss his company’s action plan to address noise solutions in the short-term and long-term.
Neighbors from at least four homeowner associations, some as far as 3.5 miles from the stage, reported hearing music inside their home Wednesday and/or Thursday night. Kings Ridge HOA officials have been in ongoing dialogue with Vaughn and city officials about the concerns for the past several days.
Progress is being made with the business owner who has implemented several short-term solutions that have decreased the noise whistling south along the valley between the western gateway of Plano and the eastern edge of The Colony.
Representatives from The Colony and City of Plano, including police leaders, and other elected leaders have been invited as well, and several have already confirmed attendance. During the meeting, citizens will have an opportunity to pose questions.
Over the weekend, two local TV stories aired that sought to educate the public about the situation.
