NNO 2024

Celebrate the Kings Ridge neighborhood’s 21st Annual National Night Out parade and celebration as we showcase neighborhood awareness and help stop crime before it happens.

Neighbors of all ages are invited to participate in this award winning event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The photos in this post are courtesy neighbor, Eric Aaberg Photography.

This high-profile event, in partnership with the City of Plano, Plano Police and Plano Fire, showcase safety and crime prevention. It’s the largest event in our neighborhood’s history, and over the years attendance has ranged from 250 to 500.

Our 1/3 of a mile (short!) National Night Out parade lined with U.S. flags features decorated entries (have fun decorating bikes, scooters, wagons, dogs, etc. neighbors!) starts at 6:35 p.m on Kings Manor! It involves neighbors, dogs on leashes, Plano Fire Engine 13, first responders and the Hebron High School drum line. Line up early near 6913 Crystal Falls  – the middle of our neighborhood at Crystal Falls and Kings Manor.

The short parade travels north on Kings Manor, crosses Indian Creek and turns right on Cannon Falls and then right again on Beckworth to our phase 2 greenbelt park.

From 6:30 to 9 p.m. with overhead lighting, the phase 2 park nearest 6917 Traceland, we’ll all learn more about safety and crime prevention, enjoy 45 free pizzas (meat & veggie) from nearby Marco’s Pizza (owned and operated by former Plano Senior HS student and a U.S. Marine), munch on hundreds of free, pre-wrapped tacos (meat & veggie) from Sangria y Cerveza – Tacos y Tapas Lounge (neighbor owned!) and free beverages (water, lemonade, beer, wine) to stay hydrated. We’ll have a DJ, music, face painters, bounce houses and prizes for best decorated parade entries.

Special thanks goes to Creative Minds Montessori and Primrose School of Plano at Headquarters who are serving as sponsors of the face painters and bounce houses. They will each have information tables at the NNO park.

Host of the city’s largest HOA-sponsored National Night Out celebration since 2010, the Kings Ridge HOA is one of only two Plano neighborhoods to have earned the City of Plano’s BEST Neighborhoods Platinum level award based on criteria that includes a neighborhood’s work involving beauty, engagement, safety and cultivating a thriving community.

Your participation in Kings Ridge’s largest of its kind National Night Out celebration in Plano has helped us achieve high honors, so please plan to attend and bring your entire family (multiple generations welcomed!)
